ECG – Association of European Vehicle Logistics
Established in 1997, ECG is the Association of European Vehicle Logistics and represents leading vehicle logistics companies from 22 countries across Europe, including the Russian Federation and Turkey. ECG Members provide transport, distribution, storage, preparation and post-production services to manufacturers, importers, car rental companies and vehicle leasing operators.
In agreement with OEM’s it agrees best practice with its members on vehicle transportation and storage across all modes.
IRHA – Irish Road Haulage Association
The IRHA is the recognised national representative body of the licenced road haulage industry in the Republic of Ireland.
IRHA members operate under European Road Haulage Operator Licences issued by the Department of Transport. A Road Haulage Operator’s Licence is required where goods are carried for hire or reward in a vehicle or combination of vehicles that are in excess of 3.5 (metric) tonnes.
The IRHA was founded in 1973 with the purpose of representing and promoting the interests of Ireland’s licenced road haulage industry – on a national and international level. The Association promotes excellence, professionalism and safety in the operation of road transport businesses.
RHA – Road Haulage Association (UK)
RHA members can join our Specialist Groups for expert advice and information. The Car Transporter Group caters for RHA members specialising in the transportation of motor vehicles on multi-vehicle transporters.
The group aims to maintain and promote professional standards to ensure that vehicles carried are transported safely and reach the customer in the best condition possible.
Given that its members operate specialist, technically complex equipment, the group has occasion to negotiate directly with the Department for Transport (DfT) to obtain specialist acknowledgement and exemptions for the types of vehicles its members operate.
Members are kept up-to-date on topics affecting their business, with circulars from the group’s secretary.
SIMI – Society of the Irish Motor Industry
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) is the National Trade Association for the Motor Industry and is established in Ireland as a Registered Friendly Society.
The SIMI is the official voice of the Motor Industry in Ireland. It is a member’s organisation that consists of Dealers, Repairers, Vehicle Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers, Vehicle Testers, and many more important operators within the Irish Motor Industry.
Membership of the Society requires companies to operate to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity when dealing with consumers.
VLAI – Vehicle Leasing Association of Ireland
The Vehicle Leasing Association of Ireland was established in 1972 to promote and develop the general interests of Irish companies operating in the vehicle leasing and fleet management sector.
IrBEA – Irish Bioenergy Association
IrBEA is the national association for the Bioenergy industry in Ireland.
They seek to increase an understanding of issues related to harvesting biomass and using it to generate energy such as heat or electricity or motion. The overall aim of the association is to promote biomass as an environmentally, economically and socially sustainable energy resource.
